Motorola and TELUS bring Canadians a fashionable new messaging device

Motorola provides Canadians the chance to dominate their social scene and never get thumb-tied again with the launch of the Motorola Rival A455, available today only at TELUS. With 7.2 billion text messages sent from Canadians in the first quarter of 2009, Canadians are a text-savvy nation. Designed for quick and easy messaging, the Motorola Rival features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and one-touch access to texts, emoticons and instant messaging.

Available in this season’s hottest colours, purple and tin silver, the Motorola Rival allows users to take and make calls using an external touch pad dialer without opening the slider. The Rival also offers a variety of multi-media features and access to TELUS premium services.

Meet Shiloh

To celebrate the release of the Rival in Canada, Motorola is giving new Rival owners the chance to win a day with Universal Recording artist Shiloh. Also, for a limited time, the purchase of a Motorola Rival will include access to three free Shiloh songs.

Other key features of the Motorola Rival include:

-  A backlit QWERTY keyboard that lights up either characters, numbers or symbols based on entry mode while texting in the dark.
-  Ability to instantly connect with friends on Windows Messenger and Yahoo Messenger(1) with Mobile IM.
-  Storage to hold up to 500 text messages in your inbox and outbox.
-  Uploaded services including TELUS Mobile Music for access to millions of songs and TELUS Navigator for an enhanced navigation system right on your phone.

-  A 3.5 mm headset jack and up to 8 GB optional removable memory to satisfy your appetite for music.
-  A 2MP camera plus video capture/playback - great for picture and video messaging.

Talk hands-free on the Rival using the stylish Motorola H790 Universal Bluetooth Headset, available now. Offering exceptional sound quality for conversations held on the go, the H790 is Motorola’s thinnest ever dual-microphone headset yet and incorporates Motorola’s revolutionary CrystalTalk technology, providing outstanding noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction so you can hear and be heard even in noisy environments. The H790’s Voice Prompt feature can be used to announce and manage incoming calls, connectivity, and even instruct users how to pair with their handset.
