iLane reads e-mail out loud, on command, which users can then reply to, forward, or delete. In addition, iLane allows access and control of other smartphone applications by voice command, including managing phone calls, SMS messages and calendars. iLane also provides on-demand access to compelling news, weather, and sports content from The Associated Press and The Weather Network.
iLane is the only hands-free device on the market that allows users to fully manage their smartphone device using simple voice commands. Unlike other dial-in solutions, iLane is a self-contained, portable hardware solution that automatically pairs with a user’s smartphone. Always-on, iLane reengages with a simple voice command, eliminating the need to fiddle with buttons or dial in to a server. As a non-server based product, information exchanged via iLane remains safe and secure making this an ideal solution for those conducting business on the road.
iLane Compatibility
iLane is currently compatible with BlackBerry 8000 series smartphones and newer running BlackBerry OS 4.1 and higher. Compatibility with additional operating systems and devices will be available throughout 2009, including Windows Mobile as well as interoperability with in-car/third party Bluetooth systems.
Pricing and Availability
iLane is available now at Bell Mobility stores across the country at a suggested retail price of $599, plus iLane’s subscription fee of $79 per year for on-demand news, weather, sports and future software upgrades. It can also be purchased online at www.bell.ca. [July 17, 2009]
