Paramount to bring The Warriors on XBLA

The Warriors is a 1979 cult movie directed by Walter Hill. To celebrate its 30th year of existence, Paramount Digital Entertainment will publish a new videogame based on it which has nothing to do with Rockstar Games 2005 title available on PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Xbox. In fact, it’s a unique beat’em all being developed solely for Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA).

CTXM has been chosen as the official developer for a new game based on the thirty years old movie The Warriors. This same company already has a production up on the Xbox Live Marketplace called Supercow. In The Warriors: Street Brawl, players can take down gang members in a horizontal sidescrolling view. Although that is common from the beat’em all genre, the game still has 3D graphics which is a nice touch on the developer’s part.

Although few details are available for The Warriors: Street Brawl, it is known it will feature a 4-players cooperative mode. It should be released during Summer 2009. Please note it will only be available through digital distribution on XBLA, but no price was given.
