Images of Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Ignition Entertainment)

Available since April 9 2009 in Japan, Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii will cross the Pacific Ocean to reach our market in September 2009. Its official publisher was revealed not long ago: it is Ignition Entertainment, a company usually focused on Nintendo DS and Playstation Portable titles.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade will benefit from a visual presentation that will be both colorful and old-school. Its developer, Vanillaware, is responsible for several videogames with a fine style, all in two dimensions. This production is very close to Princess Crown, Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire from an artistic level. Contrary to this trio, Muramasa is rooted in Japanese history, not Norse or medieval mythology. A conflict between powerful swords occurs and the world becomes the target of powerful gods and demons come to sow destruction. The main characters, Kisuke, a young amnesic ninja and Momohime, a princess, unite to fight with creatures by using katanas - there are a total of 108 to acquire.

Three game modes are planned: Unmatched (focusing on the leveling up of the characters), Carnage (a lot of action, recommended for experienced players) and Insane Death unlocked after completing Unmatched (the characters have only one health point for the whole game).
