Intrinsyc Provides Complete Navigation Solution for Goodkap! Connected PND and Wireless Product Lines

Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a provider of mobile software solutions, today announced the signing of a license agreement with Goodkap!, a GPS services operator located in Paris, France. Goodkap! plans to offer a series of connected personal navigation devices and wireless handsets capable of delivering in real-time a unique set of location-based aware services in France later this year.

Under the terms of the agreement, Intrinsyc will provide a complete solution that includes the Soleus Transit platform and Destinator navigation software customized specifically for Goodkap!. Intrinsyc will also provide its ToBe Gateway server technology to enable the aggregation and delivery of various real-time content and location based services (LBS).

"Intrinsyc is giving us an integrated end-to-end navigation and LBS software solution that enables us to develop innovative devices and services while significantly reducing our development time and costs," said Karl Auzou, CEO, Goodkap!. "Intrinsyc’s solution-oriented approach and the performance of its engineering teams have been unmatched, which is definitely shortening our time to market by several months."

Aimed at car manufacturers, fleet operators, and service partners, the Goodkap! devices will offer live traffic reports via GPRS, speed traps, guidance towards the least expensive fuel, and several live helpline services, including concierge, hostess, lawyer, 24/7 road assistance, available parking, car sharing, geo-localization, fleet management, and mileage reports.

"Goodkap! has a fresh, innovative approach to delivering real-time GPS and location-aware services that consumers will value enough to feel it is worth paying for them," said Souheil Gallouzi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Products Development, Intrinsyc. "The integrated solution based on Destinator and the Soleus Transit platform is gaining traction in the fast growing connected wireless navigation product segment because we offer our customers the opportunity to create devices that provide both drivers and pedestrians a rich experience and relevant information as they travel."

Built on Microsoft Windows® Embedded CE, Soleus Transit is a go-to-market platform optimized for building connected navigation devices and includes a telephony stack, intuitive user interface (UI) framework, and applications library. Soleus Transit enables navigation software developers and device makers to rapidly incorporate connectivity solutions into their designs such as access to dynamic content and services, advertising, local search, dialing a point of interest (POI), roadside assistance or emergency dialing. Goodkap! has licensed Intrinsyc’s Soleus Transit, Navigation Edition which comes pre-integrated with the Destinator navigation software. Destinator boasts industry-leading reliability and driving guidance. The simple, safe, and highly customizable Soleus Transit UI provides Goodkap! the ability to deliver a branded experience featuring local search, dynamic content and a number of viewing options, including 2D/3D and day or night mode. The combination of Soleus Transit connectivity with Destinator’s powerful POI search delivers rapid access to a growing selection of live content available from multiple sources.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
