Intrinsyc Launches Android Platform Development Tools

Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a provider of software solutions for mobile and embedded devices, has launched three new tools that reduce OEM time to market for Android mobile phones. RapidRIL for Android is a complete full-featured radio interface layer that can be cost-effectively reused across multiple operating systems. Telephony Test for Android is a fully automated and extensible script-based test suite that performs radiometric and systematic testing of Android telephony.

Telephony Modem Simulator is a software-only tool that allows application developers to test complicated telephony-based use cases and boundary cases without the need for a hardware modem or network.

Android is a complete, open mobile phone software stack from the Open Handset Alliance. It includes everything a manufacturer or operator needs to build a mobile phone. Intrinsyc’s RapidRIL, development tools, and engineering services are a powerful combination for OEMs developing Android projects.

"RapidRIL for Android, Telephony Test for Android, and Telephony Modem Simulator are the first in a series of Android software solutions planned by Intrinsyc," said David Manuel, Vice President & General Manager, Solutions Engineering, Intrinsyc. "We also offer expert Android engineering services in the areas of board support packages, power management, and application development. Android OEMs can take advantage of our experience in Linux and handset development, as well as our North American and APAC development centers, to get to market faster with a higher quality product."
