Blood Bowl (Cyanide Studios) delayed

Created in 1987 by Jervis Johnson under the Games Workshop banner, Blood Bowl is a popular board game which gained many new versions over the years. A few months ago, developer Cyanide Studios announced its intention to bring this classic over a new medium, videogames. Unfortunately, this one has seen its release date pushed away by a few weeks.

Cyanide Studios announces how its fantasy football game Blood Bowl, in preparation for the PC, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS consoles, will not be released at the end of March 2009 like was previously confirmed. It will only ship in the second quarter of the same year. This little delay is attributed to the real-time mode which is bringing all kinds of problems to the developer. Based on the popular board game of the same name, Blood Bowl is a parody of American football and includes elves, dwarves, orcs, warriors and trolls in violent matches. Normally it is played turn-by-turn, so that is where the difficulty spawned, one where there is no time interruption. As a reminder, both modes will be included, namely classical and real-time - so purists won’t feel betrayed.
