Intrinsyc Announces Destinator Navigation Software for Symbian Smartphones

Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a global wireless software solutions provider, has released a version of the Destinator navigation product for Symbian smartphones and a new agreement with SatNav Technologies Ptv. Ltd. in India. Under the terms of the agreement, GPS technology pioneer SatNav will distribute Destinator for Symbian software to be used on various models of Symbian OS-based smartphones sold in India.

The application includes the SatNav ONE-India map that covers all major cities of India along with a detailed national and state highway network - all included in a single map as well as several thousand points of interest.

"Destinator for Symbian is an elegant and cost-effective GPS navigation solution for Symbian OS handset customers who want out-of-the-box functionality," said Amit Kishore Prasad, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, SatNav. "By partnering with Intrinsyc, we can sell, service, and support a single navigation software technology that operates across various models of Symbian mobile phones."

Destinator for Symbian smartphones is a feature rich onboard client navigation application specifically designed to be implemented as a branded solution and enables deep handset integration to provide a compelling consumer navigation experience. Intrinsyc is leading the way by combining location with a series of value-added features, such as text message location tagging and auto re-routing based on traffic information. Destinator for Symbian is designed to address global sales opportunities in Europe, as well as emerging market countries across Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

"Destinator software now works across all the major operating systems for wireless devices, including Windows, Linux, and Symbian," said Souheil Gallouzi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Products and Development, Intrinsyc. "We believe Destinator for Symbian unlocks a significant market opportunity with customers of Symbian OS smartphones which will result in deeper penetration of emerging markets where Intrinsyc can establish brand name recognition and customer loyalty. We offer our partners the opportunity to generate revenue by reselling this software-only solution into their channels."
