It is highly customizable and can be remotely managed, controlled, and configured through AceWare remote management software, giving users the flexibility to tailor the type and number of data messages sent, when they are sent, and who receives them, through the use of programmed triggers that allow customers to set specific information requirements for their PinPoint X and PinPoint XT mobile gateways.
The ALEOS Events Reporting Engine improves the responsiveness and efficiency of PinPoint X and PinPoint XT mobile gateways, by providing time sensitive information instead of raw data for central processing. Clear, actionable information is provided as soon as it is available, to facilitate timely and accurate decision-making by end users or customer applications. In addition, the Events Reporting Engine allows customers to manage their data usage better by selecting precisely what data they want delivered, improving cost and processing efficiency. Critical event and status notifications can be delivered to multiple destinations using email, SMS and reporting servers.
"With the Events Reporting Engine, AirLink intelligent devices are now reporting real-time status and actionable event notifications, instead of just regularly scheduled raw data," said Andrew Berman, senior vice president and general manager, Mobile and M2M for Sierra Wireless. "These enhanced capabilities ensure the time-sensitive information is presented in the right place, at the precise time needed for better decision making and overall system efficiency - a critical advantage for customers that rely on real-time data for their AVL, fleet management, mobile resource management, security, or public safety applications."
Robust Intelligence and Device Management
ALEOS embedded intelligence is available exclusively on the Sierra Wireless line of AirLink products. Coupled with the AceWare suite of remote management tools, ALEOS lowers total cost of ownership by simplifying device setup, provisioning, control, management, and maintenance through extensive remote configuration and diagnostic capabilities.
Sierra Wireless will demonstrate the ALEOS Events Reporting Engine at CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment, held September 10 to 12 in San Francisco. Visit our booth at No. 1516 in the M2M Zone for more information or to view the demonstration. [September 12, 2008]
