The ultimate alarm clock

Everyday, getting out of Morpheus arms is a little yet painful operation. The warm braid, the comfortable pillow, the resting mattress, everything is SO perfect. Here’s a gadget (concept) that could help some heavy snoozers getting out of the bed. Getting up early in the morning is a daily activy for many people. Some earlier than others. Concerned of not missing their rendezvous with life, which is full of consequences, the alarm clocks create an affordable solution with minimum problems.

The Tyrant Clock from Alice Wang uses a particular method to awake its host: for every three minutes after it first rang, it will dial a random number on the sleeper’s cellphone.

The possible humiliation resulting from this should be enough reason to get up. This negative reinforcement, which totally goes against Pavlov methodology, could be an excuse to wake up even before the fatidic ‘Beep Beep Beep’ sound.

This cruel gadget exists only as a gadget for now. Maybe one day a company will be interested to approach Ms. Wang to commercialize some of her ideas, but for now, it is impossible to acquire the Tyrant Clock. Bummer!
