Albatron presents its multi-touch LCD screen

Tactile technology is the future as proven by this LCD screen from Albatron. The Albatron company, specialized in the creation of motherboards and graphic cards, benefitted from the Computex show being held in Taiwan to lift the curtain on its very last invention, an LCD screen which aims to be very interactive. It integrated a sensor on each of its sides in order to promote a tactile approach similar to that of the iPod Touch from Apple. With only finger movements, it is possible to open and to close applications, by example Google Earth.

As of now, the screen has a size of 22 inches with a maximum resolution of 1680 pixels by 1050 pixels. The screens of more than 24 inches require a third sensor placed above the surface. This interface will probably be very popular with the coming of Windows 7 envisaged during 2010. The details about this operating system are held secret, like it’s usually the case at Microsoft. For now, the computer giant is still trying to sell Windows Vista.

No release date has been confirmed for this LCD screen. The price should be 20% higher than basic models. Because Windows 7 isn’t released yet, it also works with Windows XP and Vista.
