JVC and the Super High Vision

Full HD can go take a shower. A new milestone in image processing allows to display an unbelievable resolution. JVC unrolls the red carpet for its new product, the only on the market capable of "Super High Definition" or "Super High Vision" as the company prefers to call it. It is in fact a device called Direct-Drive Image Light Amplifier, able to amplify by 16 times the full HD resolution of a projector for a total of 8192 by 4320 pixels (35 megapixels).

According to JVC, that makes it the device with the highest resolution in the world, an achievement made possible thanks to reflective liquid crystals of silicone.

The technology at the base of this invention has been worked on since 2003. Three months earlier, a device was marketed, included in projector DLA-SH4K, able to display images at a 4096 by 2400 pixels resolution, that is to say almost half of the current account achieved by 8K4K D-ILA. This monster of a projector weighs 130 pounds! In addition, the newer device’s ratio of area per pixel has 50% more density, a net advantage. It is possible to see this technology arriving on the market in the next months, probably for professional use rather than personal use.

Taking into account the fact that this technology is able to produce 35 megapixels, the highest number of pixels in the world, with a high ratio of contrast and an indeformable quality, 8K4K D-ILA could quickly become a choice reference. No price was mentioned, since JVC does not know yet when will be launched on the market this little marvel.
