Previously the head of marketing for eBay Canada, Sloss oversaw the company’s marketing strategy and execution, and was an instrumental part of the successful launch of eBay.ca in French. He was named Interim Country Manager in September 2007.
A native of New Dundee, Ontario, Sloss studied Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Prior to joining eBay Canada in 2002, he spent five years at Bain & Company in Toronto and Chicago. He will continue to be based in Toronto.
Sloss’s favourite eBay transaction was his first: the sale of a Hi-8 camcorder to a buyer in Seattle. He sold it for more than twice the price he had anticipated, and has been an eBay enthusiast ever since.

Of the approximately 24 million Internet users in Canada, one in four is currently registered on eBay.

eBay is the number-one visited retail site in Canada and is visited by almost one out of every two Canadians online.
