World of Warcraft expands with images

The massively multiplayer role-playing game World of Warcraft will soon have a new official expansion with Wrath of the Lich King. Inside, some new images are available for the curious. A true stream of cash revenue for Vivendi and Blizzard, World of Warcraft, which has just exceeded the ten millions subscriber’s milestone in the last couple of days, had a first expansion with The Burning Crusade (January 16, 2008). It had sold over 2.4 millions of copies in a single day, making it a record for the North American and Europe regions.

Thus it is obvious to expect a similar success if not better with the second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. The players will be brought in the frozen lands of Northrend, governed by Arthas Menetil. For this expansion, the maximum level will boost from 70 to 80, a new class of hero will be playable: the death warrior, there will be hundreds of new objects to collect, destructible buildings in multiplayer mode (PVP) and much more. Wrath of the Lich King should be launched before the end of 2008.
