| TELUS Security Solutions Selects Qualys SaaS Platform |
| |
Qualys, Inc., provider of on demand security risk and compliance management solutions, announced that TELUS Security Solutions has selected Qualys’ technology to add a new vulnerability and compliance management service to the company’s current Managed Security Services (MSS) offering. The partnership further enhances its customers’ ability to prevent, detect and respond to vulnerabilities and threats in real-time.
TELUS Security Solutions MSS will leverage Qualys’ on demand security risk and compliance management platform, QualysGuard, to scan customer assets, analyze threat data and correlate it in real time — enabling customers to effectively manage risk and produce documentation for regulatory compliance. Additionally, TELUS Security Solutions will augment the QualysGuard platform with its proven Assurent zero-day threat and vulnerability service.
With growing demand for security solutions that address privacy concerns and regulatory compliance, TELUS’ MSS delivers immediate assessment and reporting for customers’ IT risk and compliance posture as they relate to global requirements for PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) as well as C-Sox (also referred to as Bill 198) and MITS (Management of Information Technology Security) for companies and government agencies in Canada. Under the terms of the agreement, Canadian customers can now obtain Qualys’ leading security-as-a-service (Security SaaS) platform through a trusted partner, with data hosted at a local Canadian-based Security Operations Center (SOC), meeting the stringent privacy requirements required by Canadian federal and provincial government agencies.
TELUS will launch its Proactive Vulnerability Management Service powered by Qualys in January 2008. Under the terms of the agreement, TELUS Security Solutions will resell QualysGuard as well as leverage it for both their consulting organization and as the exclusive technology for the MSS offering. The service will assist customers by assigning highly skilled security analysts to frequently scan key assets, analyze results to determine threats that pose a risk and work with customers to pragmatically prioritize and remediate high risk threats. Customers with in-house expertise can work with TELUS to obtain the Canadian hosted-version of Qualys as a self-service option. [November 21, 2007]
