"We are extremely pleased to have Kenton join the New Media BC team," states Rick Mischel, President of Reach Games and Chair of New Media BC’s board. "His background and international reach into the sector are a perfect fit for NMBC’s evolving role in the digital landscape and we have every confidence our chosen candidate will continue to build upon the strong work accomplished by the organization to date."
Since relocating to Vancouver, Kenton’s most recent role was as President and CEO for Robeez Footwear where he assisted the founders in selling Robeez to US footwear giant Stride Rite.
"Throughout my career, I have been fascinated by the power of digital technology and have greatly enjoyed working directly in new media organizations or driving digital initiatives in other companies;" remarks Kenton "With British Columbia’s growth as a global leader in digital media, the timing seems ideal to step into a new media organization of this caliber. I find this absolutely exciting and welcome this opportunity to service an industry that has afforded me so much."
Outgoing NMBC President Lynda Brown says "The team of professionals at New Media BC have generated an outstanding record of helping to grow the sector and serving as a respected and leading voice in digital media. We know we have sourced the right candidate to help take NMBC to the next level. I’m pleased to hand over the reins to Kenton and know he will have a positive impact on our membership and the industry at large." [October 11, 2007]
