Notebook trade-in program debuts at all Sony stores

Sony Canada, an organization committed to environmental responsibility, announces the expansion of their current notebook (laptop) trade-in program. Building on the current success of the online service, all 79 Sony stores across Canada will now collect old notebooks, providing consumers with a convenient, environmentally friendly solution to technology upgrades.

Upgrade and Save

Customers who return old notebook computers to the Sony store will receive a cash credit toward the future purchase of a new VAIO notebook. This is a great value for customers who want to upgrade to the latest technology available in the market while maximizing the return on their previous investment - cash back is instantly applied to the purchase of new VAIO.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle

Sony continues to implement programs aimed at lessening the environmental footprint of their products. The company’s environmental mandate has four key areas of focus: eco-friendly products, environmental initiatives, environmental education and recycle/reduce/reuse. These programs work in tandem with each other, working to minimize landfill waste through initiatives such as the notebook trade-in program.

Sony is committed to ensuring appropriate management of end-of-life products. The company has adopted several programs and technologies to collect obsolete products and prevent hazardous materials from reaching landfills.Canadian consumers can contribute by supporting eco-friendly products such as ultra energy efficient VAIO notebooks and taking advantage of the notebook trade-in program.
