The Foleo can view attachments, type longer emails, or surf the web by using its Opera browser and its built-in Wi-Fi connection. It features a a 10-inch display, runs on Linux and has up to five hours of battery life.
With the Foleo device, unveiled at the D: All Things Digital conference, Palm intends to introduce a new category of products, targeted to business people and heavy users of wireless e-mail who do not want to carry their laptop but need more than a smart phone as a primary computing device for email, attachments and access to the web.
The Foleo will be available this summer at the cost of $499 (US dollars), after mail-in rebate.
