Softchoice First Quarter Net Income Doubles

Softchoice Corporation, a North American provider of technology products and services, today announced revenue and net income results for the first quarter of 2007. For the three-month period ended March 31st, 2007, net income grew by 102 percent to US$3.7 million compared to net income of US$1.8 million recorded during the same period the year prior.

Earnings per share for the quarter amounted to US$0.21 (or US$0.21 per share fully diluted) compared to US$0.11(or US$0.10 per share fully diluted) for the same three-month period in 2006, a year over year increase of 91 percent. First quarter revenues increased by 5 percent to US$169.0 million compared to US$160.7 million recorded for the same period in 2006.

On a rolling four quarter basis, year over year net income has grown by 52 percent. Management believes that a rolling growth analysis is more appropriate than a single quarter because of the quarterly volatility. It is for this reason that Management expects that net income growth in the second quarter will return to more normal levels and advises that a more modest growth outlook for the coming period should prevail.

During the quarter hardware sales grew by 13 percent compared to the same period last year. Approximately 40 percent of Softchoice customers purchased hardware compared to 38 percent in the first quarter of 2006.
