Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), an industry leader in providing mobility software and services, today announced that Joe Heel, Senior Vice President for Industries and Partners at Sun Microsystems Global Financial Services, has been appointed to serve on Intrinsyc’s board of directors.

"Joe’s extensive experience in creating, managing and maintaining partnerships at the highest level of the technology industry will prove to be a valuable asset as Intrinsyc continues to build its strategic partner network for the Soleus platform."

Heel has over thirteen years of experience in managing senior executive relationships within the technology industry. In September 2005, he joined Sun Microsystems and is currently responsible for driving the company’s industry and partner sales strategies, as well as overseeing the design, strategy and management of Sun’s business with OEMs. Prior to Sun Microsystems, Heel was a Partner in the high tech practice at McKinsey & Company where he advised clients in the United States, Europe and Latin America on corporate strategy, operations, mergers and acquisitions, business development and organization design. Heel also started and led McKinsey’s office in Miami and oversaw its private equity practice.

A native of Germany, Heel completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has published numerous academic papers.
