The MOTODEV Game Developer Challenge is designed to recognize independent developers that are coding to create "the next big thing" in mobile gaming. Together with title sponsor I-play and marketing allies including Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, Motorola encourages MOTODEV developers around the globe to put their skills to the test by entering their unpublished games in one of two contest categories — "Best Java Software Game" submitted for play on the ultra-slim Motorola MOTOKRZR K1 handset or "Best Windows Mobile Game" for entertainment on the uber-functional Motorola MOTO Q family of devices.
Open to all registered MOTODEV developers, the MOTODEV Game Developer Challenge is accepting submissions beginning today and continuing until August 10, 2007. A panel of judges representing Motorola, I-play, and other contest marketing allies will evaluate entries based on uniqueness, fun factor, design, operation and innovation in visual arts and audio. Category winners will be announced in the fall of 2007.
Each category grand prize winner will see their winning mobile title published by I-play for mobile consumers to enjoy. The runners-up in each category will receive the opportunity to meet with the judging panel to discuss their submission and receive valuable feedback. In addition, all winners will receive a briefcase full of Motorola’s hottest handsets and a package of I-play’s best-selling games.
