The company’s growth accelerated significantly during the fourth quarter. This growth was driven by sales in emerging countries and by the massive success of Gameloft games on Smartphone devices around the world. In particular, Gameloft has positioned itself as a leading game publisher on Apple’s App Store since launch and has seen its sales on iPhone and iPad grow by 63% in 2010.
Recent and future releases of high-performance Smartphones, from such companies as Samsung, Nokia, LG, Sony-Ericsson, Apple and Google, should continue sustaining Gameloft’s growth in the upcoming quarters. Additionally, the release of new gaming platforms, such as tablets, Smart TVs and the next generation of set top boxes allows Gameloft to continue its diversification on other devices and provides the company with strong growth opportunities.
Therefore, Gameloft expects its profitability to grow in 2010 with continued revenue and profitability growth in 2011. In the long term, the company appears to be in an ideal position to benefit from the rapid emergence of the digital distribution of video games on mobile phones, tablets, TVs, consoles.
