The BlackBerry solution brings together smartphones, software and services to allow easy wireless access to email, messaging, social networking, phone, calendar, web, multimedia and other business and lifestyle applications. At launch, DST customers will be able to get the sleek and elegant BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone and connect on a corporate or consumer based BlackBerry service plan.
Idris Vasi, CEO, DST Group commented: “The BlackBerry solution meets our customers’ connectivity requirements to access their email and other applications in real-time. For business users, it’s like having your office in your pocket, and users can also take advantage of access to popular messaging services like BBM [BlackBerry Messenger], social networking sites, Internet browsing and multimedia features with their BlackBerry smartphone. This launch increases our service and product portfolio and aligns us better with our customer requirements, as DST is always looking for innovative new services and capabilities for our customers. The launch of the BlackBerry solution will increase the number of smart-phone users in Brunei and should lead to a corresponding increase in data-usage and Value Added Services from DST.”
Gregory Wade, Managing Director, Southeast Asia at RIM said: “Both business users and consumers in Brunei will be able to take advantage of the BlackBerry solution and enjoy easy access to the people and information that are most important to them throughout their day. The BlackBerry Bold is a powerful and attractive smartphone that provides users with all the features they need to stay connected while on the move.”
