Representatives from Mochi Media and Adobe, as well as several veteran gaming journalists, evaluated the submissions and judged them based on aesthetics, usability, performance, creativity, and coding quality. The winning game developers will receive prizes and their games will be displayed on Mochi Media’s mobile-optimized site MochiGames, with games playable at http://m.mochigames.com.
"We were very impressed with the quality and inventiveness of the contest submissions," said Jameson Hsu, CEO of Mochi Media. "There is a very bright future for Flash games on mobile devices. We haven’t even begun to see the full potential here."
The "Made for Mobile" Contest followed the release of Adobe Flash Player 10.1, which allows games built using Flash technology to be played on the Android mobile platform. This contest served to showcase the innovative new gaming options that are available to Android mobile phone users.
"Flash Player 10.1 allows developers to unleash their creativity as they seek to build games that can now be played across screens including smartphones, tablets and other devices," said Jennifer Taylor, senior director, Product Management, Flash Platform at Adobe. "The ’Made for Mobile’ contest was a wonderful opportunity for developers to showcase both their technical skill and their imaginative abilities using all the new features of this release."
