Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Smartphone Makes Canadian Debut, exclusively at Rogers

The Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10 is now available for sale to Canadians who are eager to take their social networking experience on a wireless device to the next level. Allowing customers to socialize with friends and family in a whole new way through new signature applications, Sony Ericsson Timescape and Sony Ericsson Mediascape, the XPERIA X10 opens up a world of possibilities. The infinite button is a clever function integrated into both applications that automatically recognizes connections between contacts, content and media. By recommending alternative ways to communicate or guiding customers to new media experiences, the infinite button lets them experience more.

The combination of the stunning four inch screen(1) and 8.1 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom means pictures are of the highest quality and beautifully displayed for easy presentation and sharing. Videos are equally vibrant and truly shine for an incredible viewing experience. The design of the handset reflects the human curvature and fits in the palm of your hand for an excellent user experience; the XPERIA(TM) X10 is one of the most enjoyable mobile phone experiences available. Also included are a host of features and capabilities including: YouTube(TM)(2), Google Maps(TM)(2),(3), Street View(TM)(2), 16GB microSD(TM)(4) card and Bluetooth(TM) stereo(5) with a 3.5mm audio jack.

  • Sony Ericsson Timescape(TM) application, one of two signature applications, automatically brings together all recent mobile communication and organizes your social interactions in chronological order on one screen, leaving you free to concentrate on keeping in touch on-the-go. From Facebook(TM) and Twitter(TM) updates(2) to photos, missed calls, emails(2), and SMS messages(6), a 3D scrolling menu offers easy viewing and organisation of previews, or full views. Press the Infinite button to access all of your communications with one person in one place.

  • Sony Ericsson Mediascape, the second signature application available on the XPERIA(TM) X10, is the smart way to get music, photos, videos, and content from your memory card and online(2), all on one screen. Smarter still, when listening to a favourite song, press the infinite button to see related content about that artist, pulled from the phone’s memory, as well as albums, songs and video content from YouTube(TM)(2) and instant Google search results.(2)

  • The infinite button opens an endless world of communication and entertainment and brings together the unique capabilities of the XPERIA(TM) X10 by triggering the Sony Ericsson Mediascape and Timescape(TM) applications with one simple touch.

  • Face Recognition - take photos of your friends with the powerful 8.1 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, and tag up to five faces on the impressive high resolution 4" screen(1). The image is automatically filed in date order under the friend’s name in the photo gallery or phonebook. Upload(2) the photos directly to social network sites or simply click(6) on a friend’s face to start communicating with them.

The XPERIA(TM) X10 will be available in Sensuous Black and Luster White, exclusively from Rogers starting at $149.99 on a 3-year voice and activations with minimum combined monthly service fee of $45. For more information, please visit www.rogers.com

Sony Ericsson is also introducing the new Wireless Stereo Headset with FM Radio(7) - the MW600 - for exceptional on-the-go audio. Featuring advanced Bluetooth(TM) technology(5) and a built-in FM radio, the MW600 lets you stream music to your headset in high fidelity through sound-enhancing ear-buds. With a crystal clear OLED display, easy access controls and RDS radio station information, you don’t even need to take your phone with you to tune in to your favourite radio station.
